nihaova has no accounts and no ads. We only collect what helps us understand how the site is used.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see how episode features are used: which pages you open, roughly where you are (country or city), your device and browser, and actions such as playing an episode, switching tabs, saving an expression or answering practice questions. Google Analytics does not store your IP address. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies.

Cookies and your choice

Google Analytics sets cookies only if you allow it. Visitors in the EU, UK and Switzerland are asked first, and nothing is stored until they accept. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.

Stored on your device

Saved expressions, transcript settings (pinyin, English) and your cookie choice are kept in your browser’s local storage. They never leave your device.

YouTube videos

Some episodes embed a YouTube video in privacy-enhanced mode. When you play it, YouTube’s own privacy policy applies.

Sharing

We don’t sell or share your data with anyone else, and we don’t use it for advertising.
